'You do know what you're doing, right?'

Steven Spielberg has finally brought the classic Belgium comic book icon Tintin to the screens in our living spaces, But is it a treat for the eyes and ears lets read on and find out.. Good luck captain.

This was produced in a partnership with 'The Hobbit' and 'Lord of the Rings' master Peter Jackson, and what a fun filled family adventure it is. Packed with espionage, crime and secrets and a hero you can actually cheer for, a crazy dog along with a drunk sea captain there isn't much that can go wrong is there? oh and don't forget the detective 'Twins'. The movie has a lot of resemblance to that other hero we know and love Mr Indiana Jones. And you know what Tintin stands alone all on its own two feet, through a combination of humour, inventive story telling and fast packed action. So Mr Spielberg we commend you, as for the 3D does it work?.. Of course it does and bloody brilliantly to.
If you want motorbikes jumping out of buildings and into your lounge or water splashing you from a dark stormy sea its there to..it really is a feast for the eyes and ears. Definitely up there with one to show your friends who haven't yet seen 3D at home. (or at the Cinema come to that)

VIDEO*****
Presented in 2.40:1 in 1080p
The Adventures Of Tintin's digital transfer is right up there with 'Toy Story' and 'Monsters INC' and that includes the 3D platter to. There is literally nothing I can fault here when it comes to the MVC 2.40:1 encode. Fine detailing is eye popping, colours are shockingly bright and life like as are the black levels and depth of shadow detail. It just goes to show you how well a Digital to Digital transfers can look. Yes i'm going on here and NO I don't get endorsed by the film makers but it really is that bloody good. So on to the stars 5 out of 5 is what it gets and rightly deserves. If you have a 3D display then opt for the 3D disc if not the 2D disc is just as, if not better than the former.

AUDIO*****
DTS HD MASTER 7.1 English, Dolby Digital 5.1 English, Cantonese Dolby digital 5.1, Mandarin Dolby Digital 5.1, Thai Dolby Digital 5.1 and a Audio Descriptive Track Dolby digital 5.1 (Feature Only)
I'm so glad to say that Paramount has gone for a 7.1 track here as the film deserves it, if you want crisp clean treble or bass that says hello to you and the neighbours then don't look any further than the 7.1 option.(if your Receiver can handle it) It has been mixed with a remarkably high standard, I would say it has to be reference quality. The only thing you will find yourself doing is cranking the volume up as the voices are a tad quiet.. But that does not stop me giving it 5 out of 5.
Now why are you still reading this, go and buy it and see for yourself.

There's not a lot to go on here inspector!!!! except a couple of interviews with Laurent Bouzereau coming in at just over 90mins and some production material. 3 from 5 isn't bad but adequate.

You can pick this up from as little as £5.00 on Ebay or on Amazon 'New' from £19.00, so there's no excuse is there.
