'When we crack this mountain, all hell is going to break loose'
Fig 1. Love the Artwork on This
A young adventurous Viking called 'Hiccup' lives with a bunch of hardened bullish Vikings and has always been trying to prove himself. He comes a cropper though when he try's to prove that not ALL dragons are bad, his father the leader of the Vikings is on the other hand a dragon slayer and wants to train his son in the art of dragon slaying. Hiccup comes goes out of his way to slay a dragon but ends up just wounding it and then nurses it back to health and befriends it. He now has to prove to the rest of the tribe that not ALL dragons are fire breathing monsters and to try and persuade the clan not to slay all the dragons they and to change there whole approach. Epic in all manner of ways

How to Train Your Dragon starts of it's beautiful transfer with a key test for you display with a night scene, and i'm glad to tell you that all is well. DreamWorks have done a great job here in keeping colours bright and fine detail to a maximum. From the Vikings war torn or dragon torn armour to the scales on ALL the dragon's, it really shows you how far CGI has come over the past 5 years, everything looks so realistic for a animated movie. Landscapes are lush and lifelike as is the black of Toothless' scaled body. I'd have to say that this is as close to 3D your going to get without a 3D transfer 'Fantastic' work(there is a 3D transfer out there for those that are interested). If you believe in near perfect transfers then you'll believe in dragons.
it says 5 out of 5 at the top and I cant get a 3 quarter star but it is 4 and 3 quarters for me.
AUDIO*****
DOLBY TRUE HD English 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 and
Portuguese Dolby Digital 5.1
HTTYD's sound is just as if not better than the PQ. My boy loved this movie just for the sound alone, all he kept doing was looking around his head to see the dragon's, brilliant to watch. It's strange that most of the newer audio tracks are now in the seem favoured DTS MASTER but Dragons has stuck with Dolby here and it can't be knocked. The track plays as infinitely spacious and very big, and for as crazy and aggressive as it is, it is never missing any amazing clarity and precise definition. Voices are even all the way through the movie and as they wander around your room you'll have a smile on your face. Fire and rattling barn shutters clang and bang around throughout the opening scene and later on in the epic finale. Music enjoys a crisp feel as John Powell's score beautifully flows from the front speakers with just enough surround effects to keep us Home Cinema fans very happy indeed.
Yep another 5 out of 5 here. You really can't go wrong, use this to show off your system to your friends.
