After the discovery of some cave paintings that might show that it is the start of mankind's 'Engineers'. A science team from the ship Prometheus decides to embark on a mission to explore what's out there?. but what they discover are not the Gods they hoped for.
Ridley Scott's prequel to his first of the franchise 'Alien' movie messed most people up as it was spoken and expected to be exactly that a prequel but it turns out we only get a brief glimpse into the xenomorph's world. Good or bad thing well you tell me, What you do get with Prometheus is a movie of unknown terror, trepidation and stomach-churning body horror. Yes there are a couple of plot mishaps which I won't mention as not to ruin it (spot them if you can). Lets just say that there are two scientists who run around acting as if the movie is a Wes Craven slasher movie. No it's not perfect, but you tell me who wants bloody perfect anyway? Not me. Give me tantalising imperfection anyday.

The 3 Disc Collector's Steelbook features both the 2D and 3D AVC encodes of Prometheus (on there own separate disc) and it's definitely no exaggeration that this movie is what the Blu Ray format was made for. Both of them deliver beautifully textured pictures, it'll burn your eyes more than a xenomorph's acid blood.(sorry couldn't help it ) But owning a 3D TV/Display is a joy when watching this, it offers unimaginable depth and volume. Scott proves himself to be a lover of the format (3D that is as well as Blu Ray) and as good and as great as the 2D looks, It's chapter 23 that is quite Amazing when seen in 3D touching holographic stars never seemed so real and you'll think your in the med-pod having surgery in chapter 25..
Straight up 5 out of a chest busting 5. Unheard of as of now I know.

Prometheus enveloping 7.1 audio mix is just as amazing and jaw dropping as it Video equal. Sound design is perfect and I mean perfect. If you want simple dialogue with the sound of water dripping from your walls then skip your spinner to chapter 9. or if you want heart wrenching bass then jump to chapter 11-12 for the sandstorm sequence. I have watched both versions of the film more than once to the wife's anger and it's impossible to tell the sound difference so if you go for any of the copies out there you will be more than blown away. 5 for 5 again, will it be a full house?(See Below)
