How soon is to soon when it comes to a Marvel Remake or Reboot?. Well in the before mentioned Studio Marvel it seems just 11 years and given how many times the character has been bought back in print and onscreen should the loyal fans of the web-slinger be surprised?, well not really.
This new outing has tried to go the same way as the Nolan 'Dark Knight' Trilogy. Peter's (played by Andrew Garfield) on screen sparky chemistry with Gwen Stacey (Emma stone) is the main basis of this movie along with the appearance of his new and best foe The Lizard, Kurt Conner's. (Rhys Evans) But so short is his on-screen appearance that it seems that most of his lines are a little rushed. Rhys does what he can with the role, but there is little in the way of characterization and motivation for him to chew on. so once again we've ended up with a rather rushed blockbuster, where a all to real superhero must face off against a CGI lump.

VIDEO*****

If the film is a little off then there is not a thing to complain about when it comes to the picture. Whether it's the 3D transfer(Available as a 2 Disc Amaray) or the 2D outing reviewed here, it is eye popping. The texture of Spidey's hexagon suit looks so detailed you could nearly wear it. The movie definitely has a Dark feel to it. Not that that detracts from the beautiful daylight scenes, but considering the movie is mostly filmed at night there isn't that much problem with shadow detail or 'True' blacks. Onscreen motion is handled well. Colours, on the other hand, aren't blindingly brilliant. In fact, one might even call the image slightly dull, but the palette is steady and bright and has the same natural efficiency throughout the film.
Even though it has it's niggles I can't give this any less then 5 out of 5 for PQ as I couldn't stop thinking to myself 'what else could they have done' and if that's what was going through my mind then that's good enough for me.

AUDIO*****
DTS MASTER AUDIO HD English, Italian and Spanish. Catalan Dolby Digital 5.1, Hindi Dolby Digital 5.1, Tamil Dolby Digital 5.1 and Telugu Dolby digital 5.1

As with the PQ the sound is a ear fest. Whether it's the From small effects like a swinging, squeaky door to drenching rains and booming thunder, this MASTER AUDIO track has it all. But it's the hunt for Peter in the labs and in the sewer that really brings the track to life, little Gecko's come crawling from all corners of the room as Spider-man lays his web trap for the Lizard. Sony's soundtrack paints a vivid sonic picture of every environment, completely immersing you the listener. Various action effects are aggressive and clear, precisely placed and naturally immersive. Bass is potent and hits hard but not so hard as to distract from the movie. It's still a pleasure to hear from start to finish and that is why I can comfortably give this 5 out of 5 again. Home Cinema holics will not be left wanting.

I suppose I should be happy with the fact they gave us a 90 min doc, but I'm sure the cutting rooms filled with miles of other stuff we will never see. so 3 out of 5 isn't to shoddy?, or is it. You decide.
